Have a great time on your day trip to Aswan.
Our "Egypt Accessible Travel" driver will pick you up at your hotel in Aswan and take you into the heart of the city, where you can spend the day exploring this fantastic city.
Visit the High Dam, a feat of engineering built in 1960 to keep the Nile from flooding Egypt.
If you do this, you'll be off to a great start on your trip. The following exhibit is the Unfinished Obelisk, which shows how the ancient Egyptians carved obelisks with a lot of detail.
Almost all of the evidence shows that this obelisk was named after Queen Hatshepsut, a member of the ruling family of the 18th Dynasty and the royal wife of King Tuthmosis II. She also had a vital role in building this obelisk.
This queen ran her Temple on the other side of the Luxor River from Luxor city. Some people also think that it used to belong to the legendary queen Nefertiti.
Then, visit the beautiful Philae Shrine, built as a temple to Isis, the island's main goddess.
You will be taken back to your hotel after some time has passed.
