Cairo Downtown

In Egypt, the central business district is called Wust al-Balad, which means “the heart of the nation” in a poetic way. Certainly, the name of this busy, crowded part of Cairo is a good way to describe it. This area, which includes Midan Talaat Harb and Midan Tahrir, is not only the geographical center of Cairo, but also transportation, business, and cultural hub.

Montazah Gardens

Alexandria is a popular place for wealthy people to go on vacation in the summer. This is because the weather in the city is mild, which is a nice change from Cairo. The Egyptian royal family is part of this group. The summer palace of Montazah was built on the shore of Alexandria by order of Khedive Abbas II, who ruled Egypt and Sudan as Khedive from 1892 to 1914. From 1892 to 1914, Khedive Abbas II was in charge of Egypt.

Ben Ezra Synagogue

The Ben Ezra Synagogue is the oldest Jewish temple in the city. It was built in the 9th century AD and is deep in the winding streets of Coptic Cairo. Nearly the whole Egyptian Jewish community left in the 1950s, after Israel was founded and the Egyptian Free Officers’ Revolution, making it little more than a tourist attraction today.
