Pyramid of Khufu

The Pyramid of Khufu at Giza, which is sometimes called Egypt’s Great Pyramid, is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that can still be seen today and is still standing where it was built. The other two pyramids at Giza are thought to have been built by his son Khafre and another pharaoh named Menkaure. However, none of them are as big or impressive as Khufu’s Great Pyramid, which was finished in 2560 BC and stood 481 feet tall at the time. [Needs citation] (455 feet) because its outer shell and capstone have been taken away.

Cheops, whose name was often written as Khufu, was the second Pharaoh of Egypt’s 4th Dynasty during the Old Kingdom. Khufu was another name for Cheops. In some historical accounts, he is also called Khufu. People usually agree that the 4th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom was the “golden age” of that time. [Needs citation] This is because the pyramids built during this time were so big and so well made. Starting with the pyramids that Khufu’s father, Sneferu, built at Dahshur, the pyramids of the 4th dynasty were bigger and more complicated than any others built before or after them. During the 4th dynasty, when pyramids were being built, this trend kept going.

Archaeologists think that the fact that the pyramids were built during the Old and Middle Kingdoms shows that the economy and government of Egypt were stable during that time. Not only did it cost a lot of money to build a pyramid, but it also took a lot of money to hire the people who would work on it. From the size and quality of the buildings built at different times in Ancient Egypt’s history, it looks like the 4th dynasty was the only time when there were more resources to put toward the building. This is based on how big their building projects are and how well they do their work. This idea is supported by the fact that over time, both their size and the quality of how they were built have changed.

When building the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, both of which are in the Dahshur area south of Giza, Khufu improved on the new ideas that his father had come up with. In the area of Dahshur, you can find both of these pyramids. Khufu and his engineers, on the other hand, agreed on the design of the pyramid and the best side angle that had to be reached in order to finish a stable pyramid. The pyramids of Sneferu were very big, and they were the first of the Giza Pyramids to have smooth sides. However, the pyramids of Khufu were the first to have smooth sides. The Great Pyramid of Khufu has sides that are 756 feet high at their lowest point and 51.8 degrees steeper as they go up.
